Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor
Specialisms – Family Businesses, Farmers, Tax planning
Clare started her career in accountancy after her A-Levels at Nelson Thomlinson School. She began working for a large regional firm in 1999. During the 16 years she worked there, Clare qualified as an Accounting Technician and later as a Charted Accountant.
In 2005, Clare became an internal Farm Account Manager. The following year, she passed her Chartered Tax Exams at the first attempt.
Around this time, she gained her own client portfolio. Since then, she’s built it up by acting for a large number of farming and small business clients.
In 2016, Clare made the decision to join Rob and David. She has taken over a retiring Partners portfolio of clients and is looking to build on this.
Outside of work, Clare looks after her three young children who mean the world to her. As a family, they enjoy the beautiful Lake District and taking short breaks away together.
Having been born and bred on a farm, Clare still likes to get her hands dirty a bit. Whether chasing her middle son or helping with VAT and other financial issues, she’s never far away from the farm.
